NORTHRIDGE, CA – Zoey Madness, a heartwarming narrative of resilience, love, and an unwavering dedication to giving back, has captured the hearts of the San Fernando Valley. Zoey’s remarkable odyssey, from her abandonment at a Mobile station off Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood to her transformation into a beloved companion, has etched an enduring impression on numerous souls.

Nearly a decade ago, an unknown Good Samaritan left Zoey at a Mobile station when she was a fragile two weeks old. It was here that a compassionate individual discovered her and devoted six weeks to nurturing her with gentle bottle feedings. Zoey’s destiny took a serendipitous turn when she was offered for adoption on Craigslist, a gift to a new loving home. Amidst more than 50 eager candidates, one individual stood out like a beacon – Freddie Avila, who made an unwavering promise to offer Zoey the most exceptional life.

For five blissful years, Zoey and Freddie embarked on a one-of-a-kind journey together, residing aboard a yacht in Marina Del Rey, alongside Freddie’s partner at the time. In this splendid setting, Zoey thrived, savoring activities like sprinting along the dock and engaging in spirited wrestling bouts with the neighbor’s cat, Isby. Their adventures even included delightful dinghy rides. Intriguingly, the yacht itself had a brush with celebrity, having been prominently featured in Lil Dicky’s music video for “Save Dat Money” eight years ago, and it later made headlines when it tragically succumbed to fire and sank a year after being sold.

As life took its course, Freddie and his girlfriend relocated to the San Fernando Valley, and their relationship eventually ended. However, they both made a heartfelt promise to share custody of Zoey and remarkably, they have remained close friends to this day.

About a year ago, Zoey’s health took a challenging turn. She experienced a pinched nerve, followed by a torn ACL, and subsequently developed knuckling and Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). Despite their unwavering efforts and attempts to help her recover, Zoey never fully bounced back.

On September 19th, a pivotal and emotional day arrived. Freddie and his ex-partner welcomed Laps of Love into their home to ensure Zoey’s comfort in her final moments. The sunny day provided Zoey with the opportunity to enjoy her lovely backyard, adorned with blooming flowers, butterflies, buzzing bees, and chirping birds.

Zoey and Freddie had built a strong following on the Nextdoor app, where people cherished hearing about their adventures. Zoey was not just a pet but a beloved member of the community, adored by many. The outpouring of support from the Nextdoor community was especially heartwarming during this challenging time.

To ensure that Zoey’s legacy lives on, Freddie made a heartfelt pledge. He committed to donating $1,000.00 from every solar installation towards a meaningful cause. This initiative, launched on Freddie’s birthday, showcases his dedication to giving back to the community.

In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity, Debbie Shreve Trejo, former wife of actor Danny Trejo, offered her support. She pledged to dedicate $1,000.00 from each property she sells to a cause close to her heart.
